Continue the existing mob-based system for livestock used in campdrafting, rodeo and other sporting activities

This petition of Residents of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the proposed halt to mob-based National Livestock Identification Scheme movement of livestock for use in campdrafting, rodeo and other sporting events after June 20 2007. This cancellation will cause great difficulty for these traditional Australian bush sporting activities and traditions as it will force great expense and significant additional effort on to organisers and participants who will be faced with complying with full, commercial NLIS tagging, monitoring and recording requirements.
Your Petitioners therefore, request the House to continue indefinitely the existing mob-based system for livestock used in campdrafting, rodeo and other sporting activities.
