Increased police presence for Dimbulah

DIMBULAH QLD 4872
We, the residents of Dimbulah township are seriously concerned with the growing incidence of youth crime in our community. The financial burden as a result of the increasing break and enters, theft and vandalism is effecting the viability of local businesses and could result in business closures and a loss of services to our community, a situation which is unacceptable to Dimbulah residents. While the young offenders have been charged with these offences the penalties are not decreasing the crime rate.
Your petitioners, therefore, request a greater police presence in the town and urgent action by the Government to support tougher penalties, such as curfews for perpetrators, and victim compensation. Offenders should be made financially responsible for the damage they cause and penalties must take into consideration the effect on the wider community as well as the victim.
