Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that the claim limit of twenty-five thousand ($25,000) that is set at the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) is not sufficient.  A consumer should not have to endure the additional stress and/or financial outlay for costly legal representation by taking unresolved consumer disputes to the District Courts should the new product they had purchased be in excess of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000).

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to implement measures to remove the claim limit that is currently set at the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT).
