Paper Petition

The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the
attention of the House better transport options for the residents of
southern Cairns in the form of a bus service to Forest Gardens.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to take immediate steps to
address the lack of public transport options to Forest Gardens, Mount
Sheridan by introducing a bus service to the area. Forest Gardens is one
of the fastest growing communities in the southern corridor and is made
up of over 1800 people from a wide range of demographic, age and socio-
economic groups. It is currently growing at a rate of 40 people a
month. The lack of a bus service to the area limits the safe access
residents have to services and the rest of the Cairns Community.
