The petition of electors of the Division of Pumicestone draws to the
attention of the House, the need for a State School at Sandstone Point.
The Development made a site available for this purpose but has been
advised by the Department of Education Training and Youth Affairs that a
school will not be built on the site or in the Sandstone Point area. The
site is currently under application for use as a Retirement Village. If
approved, this will preclude its use of its originally intended purpose
of a State School.

Your petitioners therefore request the House as a matter of urgency to
direct the Department of Education Training and Youth Affairs to acquire
that portion of Lot 907 on SP 151115 located on Bestman Road East
Sandstone Point required to accommodate a State school.
