The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House regarding the recent Land Valuation 2016 in excess of 60%.
According to the Department Natural Resources and Mines (NDRM) website indicates that the Historical trends since 2012 in land valuations -
Local Government area (LGA) | 2012 | 2013 | 2014 | 2015 | 2016 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Brisbane | -0.6 | -0.5 | 3 | 9.7 | 9.9 |
This table indicates that the valuation for the whole of Brisbane increased by around 9.9% for 2016. This is in contrast to the valuation of some of the properties in Mansfield which has increased by 60% for the same period.
Your petitioners therefore request the House to start an investigation with the Department of Natural Resources and Mines to review the land valuation in Mansfield. We the residents feel there is an error in the land valuation this year 2016. We also are concerned that this will have a negative impact on our Brisbane City Council rates which will significantly increase over 3 years.
In our opinion, an increase of land valuation between 5% - 9% is an average valuation which is in line with the valuation for the whole of Brisbane statistics as per DNRM website.
