Paper Petition

The Petition of the residents of Queensland with regard to the Master
Plan of redevelopment of the Lake Eacham day use area is that no road
closure be considered due to the following effect which would result from
such a closure. (1) Two road safety issues: (a) greatly increased traffic
on two winding single track roads (Gadgarra – Windfield) (b) negative
activity at the junction of Gadgarra – Wrights Creek Road; (2)
Substantial diversion of trade away from the Malanda business centre; (3)
The major issues put forward by QWPS can only be addressed through proper
management and design and have nothing to do with road closure.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to ensure that there will be
no road closure on the redevelopment plan.
