Stop further 50% increase to housing density for priority development area (PDA) in Greenbank DEV2017/831
Eligibility - Queensland residents114 Hobury Road
GREENBANK QLD 4124
Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House for the need to manage the population growth and impact on the suburb of Greenbank by denying a 50% increase in housing density for the Priority Development Area (PDA) at Lot 9968 on SP163061 Pub Lane, Greenbank. The PDA development application submitted to EDQ under DEV2017/831 seeks to increase density by approximately 500 residential lots. This PDA is one of two large urban developments planned for Greenbank. Lot 9968 has approval for 1001 lots. The other development by Mirvac in Greenbank seeks to introduce over 3000 lots. The total population growth will more than double the current population of Greenbank. The road infrastructure is not capable of handling the traffic congestion that will arise from this population growth. Traffic congestion already exists at peak times with stress on road networks. There is no public transport in the area to assist the traffic congestion. There are minimal to no employment opportunities in the local area, the local primary school has high numbers of children, there is no high school, and support services for community are lacking. The rail line passing through Greenbank does not have a plan for a passenger rail service.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to halt the 50% increase of an additional 500 residential lots for the PDA at Lot 9968 on SP163061 Pub Lane, Greenbank, as a matter of urgency. The PDA development application ending formal public submissions by 4 August 2017.
