The Petition of residents of Queensland draws to the attention of the
House safety concerns regarding the intersection of Peregrine Drive and
Nicklin Way, Wurtulla.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to direct the Department of
Main Roads Queensland to install a right turn arrow at the intersection
of Peregrine Drive and Nicklin Way, Wurtulla. The reasons for this
request are:

• To allow for a time for motorists northbound on the Nicklin Way
to make right turn into Peregrine Drive without running the gauntlet of
oncoming southbound traffic on the Nicklin Way.
• Many elderly residents make a right turn at this junction so as
to access the village of Parkhaven.
• Many of the residents of Parkhaven Village are senior citizens
and the current situation does not allow time for these senior citizens,
or any driver, to make the turn into their homes safely.
• Because of the constant southbound stream of traffic the effort
to get across the Nicklin Way becomes a dangerous manoeuvre for all.
• The coming installation of a right turn phase at Moondarra Drive
will not alleviate the problems at Peregrine Drive as there is no
internal road system connecting Moondarra Drive to the Parkhaven Village
area.
