TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the
attention of the House the dangerous situation at the entry and exit to
the Shell service station located at 59 Currumbin Creek Road. When
vehicles are parked outside the service station the view of oncoming
traffic is obstructed completely putting the safety of drivers, cyclists
and pedestrians at risk. Since construction of the Stewart Road
interchange commenced traffic flow has escalated enormously, increasing
the likelihood of a serious accident and the risk of loss of human life.

The petitioners request the House urgently implement a no standing zone
along the north side of Currumbin Creek Road to make entering and exiting
the service station a less dangerous proposition.
