Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House, once again, the urgent need to upgrade the bus services between Ormeau Station and Coomera Station which includes services throughout the Pimpama area.

This area is identified as the being at the centre of fastest growing region in Queensland. Increased bus routes, an extension of hours and more frequent bus services are therefore essential for the provision of services to the residents of this fast-growing area. 

With the recent announcement by the City of Gold Coast’s willingness to fund 50% of the cost of more than 100 additional services each day, we request the State Government to commit to jointly fund this much needed service.

The Ormeau-Pimpama-Coomera area is already a well located and planned urban settlement and, as such, must be serviced by the appropriate public transport infrastructure. 

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to do all in its power to ensure the Department of Transport and Main Roads work with the City of Gold Coast to ensure funding is approved for the upgrade of bus services between Ormeau Railway Station and Coomera Railway Station, as a matter of urgency.
