Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that Queensland is now suffering from a significant mental health crisis with some support agencies such as Lifeline seeing a 40% increase in services. Some practitioners suggest that this mental health crisis will continue to get worse over the next 3 to 5 years. This situation has been caused directly by the policies of the Premier and the Chief Health Officer who were advised that their lockdown policies would result in this crisis. And yet they continued with their policies knowing this would be the result. The Premier and the Chief Health Officer need to be held accountable for their policies.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to hold the Premier and the Chief Health Officer accountable for their policies which have led to a mental health crisis in Queensland.
