Electors of Ninderry draws to the attention of the House to a very dangerous situation at the intersection of David Low Way and Petrie Creek Road, Diddillibah, Sunshine Coast. This intersection has traffic lights but no pedestrian lights. The location is:

  • less than 10 minutes to the centre of Maroochydore
  • a point of convergence for increasing traffic approaching Maroochydore
  • on a major public transport route
  • adjacent to a new expensive pedestrian/cycle path created to encourage activity; and
  • has no alternative place to cross for residents.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to immediately install pedestrian lights at this location and not wait for an accident or fatality before acting.
