TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House the need to establish a Black Lung and Silicosis Fund to fully fund workers compensation claims for workers suffering from permanent disabling and/or fatal  industrial respiratory disease due to workplace exposure. The fund by a  levy of 2% per tonne per year on each tonne of coal mined and sold from the State of Queensland. The Board of said fund to include a minimum of one third representation from those diagnosed with a permanently disabling and/or fatal  Coal Industrial Respiratory Disease.

Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to establish a Black Lung and Silicosis Fund to fully fund  workers compensation claims for workers suffering from permanent disabling and/or fatal industrial respiratory disease due to workplace exposure.
