Biding ban on all smoking on the strata title balcony areas
Eligibility - Queensland residents3 Hanlan Street
SURFERS PARADISE QLD 4217
Queensland residents draws to the attention of the House that the people of Queensland want stronger laws to ban smoking on strata building balconies. It is a scientifically proven fact that second-hand smoke is more carcinogenic than the use of cigarettes themselves. While the smoker has the freedom to inhale a known cancer-causing product, others are exposed to this without any say in the issue. The smoke drifts into other "apartment homes" even when the windows are closed and once inside there is no possible ventilation to get rid of it. Please take a small step in the right direction to protect every resident in Queensland, including the children and the elders, and those with health issues.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to call upon the Minister for Health to introduce laws to ban smoking on strata building balconies and ensure the laws enforcement to protect the health and well-being of residents.
