TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
Queensland citizens draws to the attention of the House recent news reports have again shown the travesty of whales and whale calves being caught in shark nets up and down our coast. On patrolled beaches lifeguards regularly warn if sharks are in the vicinity and that should be enough for people to decide if they want to take chances.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to ban all shark nets in Queensland.
