TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland
The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the lack of Computed Tomography (CT) services outside of business hours in Ayr. This means that patients are regularly transferred to Townsville for urgent scans, placing additional pressure on QAS and hospital staff as well as patients and their families.
Your petitioners, therefore, request the House to install the necessary equipment to allow CT Scans to be performed at the Ayr Hospital and note that this equipment would reduce pressure on staff, patients and the Townsville University Hospital while also ensuring the best outcomes for patients and their families.
