TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the
attention of the House the unacceptable decision by the State Government
to move all police officers from the now closed Redland Bay Police
Station away from the local community until the end of the year. The
local police officers do a magnificent job and should remain in Redland
Bay while the new station is being built.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to establish a shop-front
(otherwise known as a mall-stop) police station in Redland Bay to ensure
the continuity of community-based policing and that a visible and
accessible police presence remains throughout the entire construction
period.
