TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

The petition of citizens of Queensland draws to the attention of the House the inappropriate and harmful actions of the Big
Brother television program, especially Big Brother Uncut, which promotes sexually explicit and highly graphic material
including sexual acts and full frontal nudity, binge drinking and other negative messages as a normal lifestyle to children
and young people on television, radio and the internet.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to call on the Queensland Government to

• Immediately withdraw all financial support provided to the Big Brother television program and commit to not funding Big
Brother or similar ventures in the future
• Send a clear message by calling on the Big Brother program to immediately cease the promotion of sexually explicit and
highly graphic material to children and young people as it is not accepted by the majority of Oueenslanders
• Withdraw all previous public statements of support for Big Brother and
• Take all practical measures to ensure inappropriate material is not made available to children through another medium
including internet, mobiles or any other new media, in particular where the alternative medium is promoted to children on
television or radio.
