Queensland citizens draws to the attention of the house to the pain being felt by Queenslanders as a result of the high
price of fuel in Queensland.

Your petitioners therefore, request the House to act to reduce the financial burden on Queenslanders by:

• requesting the Federal Government provide urgent relief for Queenslanders paying large federal taxes on fuel purchases
• demanding a greater share of the $14 billion the Federal Government collects as fuel excise revenue be returned to the States
• developing state policies to reduce the impacts of increased fuel prices on Queensland families, workers, businesses
and rural industries
• investigating fuel alternatives to reduce Queensland’s reliance on overseas oil and petroleum products
