The petitions of residents of the State of Queensland draws attention of
the House to the Links Group proposed Residential and Golf Course
Development behind the village of Montville. A total of 142 hectares
(350 acres) of rural land comprising of 40 hectares (99 acres) for 350
houses and 150 pre-retirement units; 125 hotel rooms and lodge
apartments; 10 hectares (25 acres) village precinct including commercial
uses (pro shop, restaurants and potential boutiques); members club; golf
course; and additional recreation facilities.

The development totally contravenes the Maroochy Plan 2000 and the
petitioners request the House to cause the new Call In powers of the
Office of Urban Management to be used to prevent this development from
being approved by the Maroochy Shire Council and to include Montville and
its surrounds to be protected from further urbanization and development
by including it as an important part of the green belt of regional
landscape in the new Urban Management plan being put in place by the
state government.
