The petition of the residents of the state of Queensland draws the
attention of the House to the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service,
which allowed 250 trail motorcycles to traverse its fire breaks in the
Imbil forest area, and to use a track down Mt Grainger to access the main
road. This has caused serious damage to the undergrowth and trees
growing on the steep track, which will deteriorate further with erosion
from heavy rains. It was also obvious the native fauna were disturbed by
the loud noise of so many motorcycles in an area of untouched native
forest and wildlife.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to stop the Queensland Parks
and Wildlife Service in the future, from issuing permits to any group of
motorcyclists.
