TO: The Honourable the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland

The petition of residents of the State of Queensland draws to the attention of the House of the Crime and Misconduct
Commission’s (CMC) report on Police Powers and VSM (Volatile Substance Misuse) which identifies that there is an
offence of public drunkenness while there is none for being intoxicated by other substances.

Your petitioners therefore request the House to consider making intoxication and chroming offences, like public
drunkenness, so they can be managed in the same way.
