This petition of the residents of the Queensland draws to the attention of the House the failure of the Cairns Base Hospital Mental Health Unit to provide adequate service or treatment to those in need.
Your petitioners therefore request an independent inquiry into the resourcing, funding and staffing of the Cairns Base
Hospital Mental Health Unit and of the policies under which it operates, to identify shortfalls and for government to take all necessary steps to ensure this unit provides adequate service.
