Lapse of Bill
On 25 January 2012 the Premier announced that she would seek dissolution of the Parliament on 19th February 2012. On dissolution of the Parliament, all Bills before the Parliament lapsed.
The Committee authorised any successor committee to have access to its documents and evidence received, including correspondence and submissions received by the Committee prior to the Inquiry lapsing.

Referral
On 13 October 2011 the member for Nicklin, Mr Peter Wellington, introduced the Identification Laws Amendment Bill 2011 into the Queensland Parliament. Subsequently, Parliament referred the Bill to the Legal Affairs, Police, Corrective Services and Emergency Services Committee for detailed consideration.
The committee is due to report back to the Parliament by 13 April 2012.
