The committee reported back to the Parliament on 3 October 2011.
The Bills
The Bills divide the provisions currently contained in the Property Agents and Motor Dealers Act 2000 into four separate Acts. They provide for the licensing and regulation of the activities of property agents, motor dealers, chattel auctioneers, and commercial agents, provide consumer protection regarding their operations, and provide for administration of trust accounts and the establishment of a compensation claim fund.
