Overview
The Committee of the 48th Parliament resolved to undertake a review of the Electoral and Administrative Review Commission's Report on review of the preservation and enhancement of individuals' rights and freedoms, published in 1993. That Committee had undertaken extensive work on this inquiry but had not reported by the time the Parliament was dissolved in May 1998. The Committee of the 49th Parliament resolved to finalise the review, based largely upon the work of the former Committee.
