What happens to Committee inquiries and referrals?

Current committee inquiries and referrals (with the exception of the PCCC as referred to above) cease upon the dissolution. When the new Parliament convenes, new Committees are appointed. For some inquiries, the new Committee will have the power to decide whether to continue an inquiry commenced before the dissolution. For other inquiries, it will be a matter for the new Parliament whether to make a fresh referral to a Committee of a matter which had been referred before the dissolution.

What happens to evidence or submissions made to a Committee Inquiry?

If a new Committee continues an inquiry commenced before the dissolution, it can have regard to evidence and submissions received by its predecessor Committee.

What happens to Parliamentary Committees when the Legislative Assembly is dissolved

Upon the dissolution of the Legislative Assembly, all of its committees, with the exception of the Parliamentary Crime and Corruption Committee (PCCC), cease to exist. The PCCC continues by virtue of section 301 of the Crime and Corruption Act 2001.
