This full-day seminar is designed to give public sector officers a detailed knowledge and understanding of the processes and procedures the Parliament uses to scrutinise the actions of Executive Government. Topics covered include: Queensland's unicameral Parliament; the Budget and Estimates processes; scrutiny of the legislative process; the cabinet process and public policy cycle, and the role of a Minister at the parliamentary and Executive levels.

Officers will have the opportunity to observe the Parliament at work during Question Time and also to participate in a session with a Minister to discuss the Minister's parliamentary and Executive roles and responsibilities. A tour of the Parliament and its historical environs is included.

This seminar follows on from our “How Parliament Works” seminar.

Booking links will be available by the end of January.
