Our free education program is designed to deepen your students' understanding of how Queensland Parliament operates and the role the government plays in shaping law to reflect shifting societal demands.
Year 10 to Year 12 education program

Year levels
- Year 10 to 12 Legal Studies or Social and Community Studies students.
Group size
- Our program has a capacity of 30 to 50 students, depending on the date.

- Term 1: 12, 20 and 28 February; 3, 13 and 26 March; 1 April

- Term 4: 14, 16 and 22 October; 20 November
What's involved?
Students will:
- Learn key legal concepts such as representative government, responsible government, separation of powers doctrine and unicameralism.
- Explore and analyse the legislative process through a role play*.
- View the Legislative Assembly in action (sitting days only).
- Discover the architectural features and history of Parliament House.
- Gain an understanding of the role of a member of parliament with a Q&A involving your local member (subject to availability).
*A minimum of 15 students is required to run a role play
No prior knowledge is required to take part in our education program.
